Wang Chunhui, female, associate professor, doctoral supervisor, Doctor of Engineering. I received a bachelor's degree from Peking University in 2007, a master's degree from Russian State Bauman Technical University in 2011, and a doctorate in engineering from the School of Ship Engineering of Harbin Engineering University in 2017. Main research directions: Numerical and experimental research on navigation performance of ships in ice regions; ship propulsion and energy-saving technology.
In recent years, as the country attaches significant importance to polar-related scientific research, I have conducted relevant theoretical and experimental research on the navigation performance of ships in ice regions. For the two major problems in this direction: ice/ship/water, multiphase, multimedia, multiscale coupling process and the impact of broken ice on ship flow field, there is a lack of effective test methods and research data in the world. I have accumulated rich experience in theoretical analysis, numerical simulation, and test technology; I have established a set of test methods for the sailing performance of polar ships under non-freezing model ice conditions in a towing tank, as well as the relationship between polar ships and ice water under various ice conditions. The coupled dynamic numerical model of mixed media action provides strong technical support for the optimal design of bow and stern lines of ships in polar regions, and the accurate prediction of resistance and speed.
Since starting my PhD studies in 2011, I have been engaged in research related to ship propulsion and energy conservation. Over the years, I have accumulated substantial experience in theoretical analysis, numerical simulations, and certain experimental techniques. I have Innovatively designed a novel aft Propeller Energy-Saving Device. Aiming at the prediction of the energy-saving effect integrated with the propeller, a potential flow and viscous flow coupled iterative body force method without nested iteration is proposed, and on this basis, the design and optimization theory of the integrated energy-saving attachment of the propeller is established. Building upon this foundation, I developed a theory for the integrated design and optimization of ship-propeller energy-saving configurations. I have undertaken and participated in more than ten research projects in this field. During the initial stages of overall unit design, I utilized theoretical analysis and numerical simulation methods to provide further validation for the feasibility of the proposed design schemes. Moreover, the propulsion system design schemes I put forward have been repeatedly acknowledged and recognized as viable options among the overall unit design alternatives, receiving affirmation from peers and naval authorities.
In the past five years, I have published 13 high-quality academic papers as the first or corresponding author. I have received awards at the provincial and ministerial levels on two occasions. I have authored two monographs and one textbook. I hold fifteen granted invention patents and twenty software copyrights. I serve as a communication reviewer for the National Natural Science Foundation of China and as a reviewer for SCI journals. Over the past five years, I have completed and am currently involved in ten projects, including those funded by the National Natural Science Foundation, the Military Commission of Science and Technology Strengthening Program, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's High-Tech Vessel Program, and cross-industry projects involving both military and civilian sectors. The total funding for the projects I 'm involved in has exceeded 6 million RMB.
In terms of international academic exchanges, I attended the 36th International Conference on Ocean, Offshore, and Arctic Engineering (OMAE2017) held in Norway in 2017, where I delivered a presentation on my research. I serve as a peer-review expert for the National Natural Science Foundation of China and as a reviewer for SCI journals like Ocean Engineering and Ships and Offshore Structures.
