狄少丞

Shao-Sheng Di, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Doctoral tutor, received his B.Sc. degree from the Department of Engineering Mechanics, Harbin Engineering University, Harbin, China, in 2009, and his Ph.D. degree in Solid Mechanics, Dalian University of Technology, Dalian, China, in 2015. His research interests include numerical methods for engineering sea ice, ice load forecasting techniques for ice-area structures, experimental techniques for ice mechanical properties, and data-driven ontological modeling of sea ice based on microstructural evolution. He has long been devoted to the experimental study of physical and mechanical properties of sea ice, established a discrete element numerical model for the damage of sea ice materials, and developed a software for the numerical prediction of ice loads on structures in the ice area; he also adopts the coupled numerical methods of SPH-DEM and LBM-DEM to study the complex mechanical properties of ice-water mixtures, and establishes a data-driven ontological model of sea ice based on a deep learning algorithm on a crystalline scale.
